Biography

Marcel Ruschel Stürmer is a Brazilian figure skater. He is considered the most important skater in the history of the country, given the number of titles accumulated during the race. Also known for being the first champion of the reality show Exathlon Brasil.

Marcel began to skate to the six years of age, in his native city. Success came early; to the 11 years Marcel became champion South American. The dedication of the young skater caught the attention of foreign technicians and, with 16 years, Marcel was invited by an American trainer to live in the city of San Antonio, Texas.

He won four gold medals at the Pan American Games: in Santo Domingo 2003, Rio 2007, Guadalajara 2011 and Toronto 2015. He was fifteen times Brazilian champion of the modality. He was champion of the Glass of Germany of 2008.

In 2013, he made history by winning the gold medal at the 2013 World Games; he won the competition by presenting a new choreography based on the movie Rio.
